Make A Custom Kydex Holster To Your Specifications Today

By Annabelle Holman

a very thick sheet of plastic cut down to size by using a circular saw, band saw, and a router. Other options to cutting are to bend, break form, or using a laser. A hot stamp and perforation punch can also be used to give a personal touch or added look to a custom kydex holster. Adhesives and solvents are avoided in bonding the plastic. Instead, an ultrasonic spot weld and mechanical fasteners are used to bond the hard plastic.

One casing is made for concealing a protective weapon. The weapon can be in the form of a gun, magazine holder, or a knife sheath. The thick material will protect the knives and guns as well as the individual carrying them. Wear and tear is is kept to a minimum on the inside and outside of the holster.

Optional holsters are also made for non-protective items such as cell phones and dip cans. This option allows a person to conceal a habit or expensive technology. The holster will protect expensive personal products from bumps, drops, and moisture.

A custom-made holsters come in a very snug fit. Cradling the product in such a tight fit eliminates the gap the gives wiggle room. Without wiggle room the item can not easily become free of the holster or sleeve. A consumer can mail the product in so the exact measurements are easier to produce.

As with options, many colors and designs are available. One needs to realize the color on the outside if visible to others while the color on the inside is not. The colors on the outside and the inside can be either the same or different. Some colors are solid and others are multicolored or camouflage. Some will choose a simple color while others will chose a different color for inside, outside, and edging. The choice is up to the creator which makes each holster a unique.

The product is custom-made for specific locations. Locations are either on the belt of a pant or pant leg. Some individuals prefer to carry inside the waist pant rather than outside. Some people do not wear belts and choose a different location. While some have a preference, others use a sense of caution. Alternative locations for a holster is necessary to consider in the creation. One does not want to have or carry a large bulky item in an odd area, especially when trying to conceal the item.

Accessories can either change the look or design. When an enhancer creates a design change it needs to be taken into consideration prior to making custom-order. The colors will not effect the design but extra eyelets and fasteners will change the design. Other additions that change the design and size are the thumb break, sweat guard, and lights on a gun.

The most functional option to consider is directional use. The creator needs to consider which hand is more dominant, the left or the right. The safest option to chose for a custom kydex holster is ambidextrous. The latter of the two is most helpful when the purchase is for a gift.
