Internet Marketing Firms & Measuring Attitudes On Social Media

By Robert Sutter

To say that it is a challenge to measure someone's personality through their actions on the Internet would be an understatement. You simply do not have the means to see how they act in a typical scenario and I do not know if we will ever be able to do so through the online world. However, it appears as though efforts put forth by Five Labs are going to make this more of a reality than ever before. If you are curious as to what this means, here are some details offered by Internet marketing firms.

Business Insider reported on a tool, created by Five Labs, that will be available for free usage by Facebook users. If someone on Facebook uses the tool in question, they will be able to see what their personality is based on the posts that they have made over the course of time. However, there is far more to take into account than simply the program itself. Rather, it should be noted that there are various components that help to make this particular piece of software a reality.

The report detailed that a method based on a University of Pennsylvania study was utilized in order to make this program come to fruition. Personality traits, based on the aforementioned program, are measured by the traits seen in psychology today. What this means is that a collection of extroversion, openness, neuroticism, conscientiousness, and agreeableness could, in theory, gauge an individual's personality. How accurate is this, though, and can it be built upon?

It's difficult to say whether or not this program is as accurate as it claims, given the fact that it is still very recent. However, as firms as fishbat may attest to, what this means is that the program in question has all of the potential in the world to be made even better. It's likely that there are certain aspects, tied to the program, that can stand to be tightened. If this is the case, Five Labs may have a strong tool on its hands in the future and it may be one that Internet marketing firms across the board will support.

Five Labs has an intriguing concept on its hands, to say the least, and I am sure that many individuals on the social media side of things can attest to this. Keep in mind, though, that this is still a young concept and it is going to take some time until it becomes an even more accurate entity. With that said, the functionality is present and it could be made into something special down the road. Of course, this is dependent on the level of work that Five Labs is willing to put forth.
