Discovering Las Vegas Convention Vendors

By Miranda Sweeney

Las Vegas is a popular destination for convention goers, entertainment enthusiasts, gamblers, vendors and others. When it comes to setting up a convention, the Las Vegas Convention Vendors is an association that can help with organizing a conference or convention in the city.

One of the best and most fun of these conventions is that related to magic. Jeff McBride, well known magician and founder of the Magic and Mystery School often hosts a convention focused on beginning magic and emerging magicians each year. Vendors at this conference will no doubt be different than those set up at an electronics show though may have some of the same at a science fiction convention.

While a science fiction vendor might have miniatures of science fiction characters and culture, a magic vending booth is most likely going to sell magic costumes, masks, tricks and accessories. Whereas, an electronics showcase often focuses on the best and newest technological gadgets on the market, or going on the market in the near future.

In large part, this is because of the association between fantasy and science fiction. Fantasy has a great deal related to sci-fi so if there are fantasy workshops at an event, chances are there are also science fiction fans. These fans often purchase goods and services from many different vendors. As a result, these vendors now know and understand what fans like and often stock booths accordingly.

When in doubt about a product fitting within the themes and guidelines of a trade show, the vendors association sponsoring the show can often provide an answer. Simply locate the local organization and ask as to what types of products are welcome at the event. While some may have limitations, others like the adult entertainment awards will most likely be more open minded.

Whether an international, national, regional or local show, it is often good to have a booth. Booths are often used as a way to distribute information as much as product. While there may be a large flow of people through any one show, most pick up business cards in hope of making contact at a later date. When planning a give away, it is good to list any ingredients in food or drink and assure there is enough stock for the event.

It is important to understand what is and is not expected in the way of privacy when attending events with other people. It is never good to talk behind another person's back but some may not even want others to know about the trip. A brief discussion with the group about privacy and other trip related issues can often save a great deal of heartbreak in the long run.

Regardless of the type of conference, seminar or show, those held in Las Vegas have an added ambiance. It is important that anyone going to Las Vegas prepare a plan in relation to gambling and limitations. While it can be fun to gamble, it can be hard to lose. One way to keep it fun is to set limits and realize that monies spent should be seen as an entertainment part of a travel budget.
