By Tammie Caldwell

Each person have different preferences when it comes to the kind of things that they want to do. There are others who only want pure relaxation. And there are also some that are dreaming of adventure and thrills. If you decide that you want to go on an adventurous trip, you have to be well equipped because you never know what you might encounter in the road. Aside from that, the thrill usually comes from the concept of being close to danger.

Camping and hiking in unknown grounds can bring more thrill than what you expect. But you have to still be safe no matter what activities you choose to do. And to do this, you will be needing a few survival gear with you. There are essentials that you must pack because they might come handy when you are faced with certain risky situations.

You must not forget to pack the things that are listed below. To make sure that they do not occupy that much space, try to go for the smaller variants. This is to guarantee that even if you do not go with your group you can still be safe. And if there is imminent danger, you can still protect yourself without the help of others.

Number one on the list is a trusted knife and a rope as well. Knives are going to be used for cutting various things. This can also be your last line of defense when you are at risk. It would even be better if you will bring a back up knife. The type that can be folded and can be placed in smaller spaces is the perfect knife for back up. You have to be certain that both these items are durable and of high quality. If you are not on trip, you have to maintain and clean it well.

You will be needing food. Just bring those that would not go bad easily and enough for the number of days that you decided you will stay in that area. Water is a must. You can forget food but not hydration. Aside from that, it is hard to find a clean drinking water in the wilderness compared to finding something that you can eat.

Shelter is also of utmost importance. It would be difficult to find a safe place when you are outside the wild. But the tent should accommodate smaller number of people so that you it would not be too big. Tents that can be folded are the trend these days so you can take one of these to your trips.

First aid kit is a must. You might feel pains while you are walking or traveling. Aside from that, you might get unexpected cuts. You have to be ready for this. And you need to be certain that the container is water resistant and that it would be durable enough to withstand the whole journey.

If you are the type of person who likes to wander off without someone to help you, you have to make sure that you bring signaling devices with you. Through this, you can signal someone if you are in need of assistance. And if you are in danger, it would be easy for you to call them.

One of the ways to survive in the wild is to make sure that you are warm. And because it is always cold out at night, you need to be positive that you are bringing warmer clothes. And you will be needing something that you can use to start fire with.
