The Real Truth About Marvel Action Figures

By Ruthie Calderon

Many people living in America and other places like to collect toys that are really unique and expensive. Marvel action figures have been around for such a long time and any true collector would like to have these statues within their homes. Movies like "The Avengers, " "Fantastic Four, " "X-Men" and others have made each and every one of these dolls very popular among the fans.

Many males living across America have come to know and love "The Avengers" since they are a dynamic group of crime fighters. One of the lead heroes of this group is named Thor and he alone controls the weather with his powerful hammer. Mego was smart enough to construct a Thor statue in the early 70's and he looks damn good. This doll has real clothing and long blond hair.

He comes with his hammer, helmet and boots and this item is worth tons of money if it is found in new condition. The dolls which are missing certain accessories are cheaper in price and they are usually easier to locate. Someone could expect to spend thousands of dollars on a Thor model that was new and still standing within his original box.

The Thor items made by a company named Toy Biz were very inferior to the Mego brands. Unfortunately a child could not remove Thor's helmet since it is attached to his head. All of his clothes are also painted on to his body and therefore he could never dress in other outfits. Anyone could purchase this item in its seven or six inch form. Every American toy store carried this doll at some point in time.

Some people like to collect all of the villains which are also written inside of these unique comic books. Some of the villains included Dr. Doom, Green Goblin and the Sentinels who were quite large. Any fan would love to own their very own Dr. Doom doll since he was the greatest foe of the "Fantastic Four." Doom was driven to madness by a lab experiment which went horribly wrong.

The Green Goblin is one mixed up villain who has been seen in the "Amazing Spider Man." He is a murderer who has taunted and tortured the hero named Peter Parker for decades. Any fan is able to find a goblin statue whenever they visit their local Toys R Us store. His evil stare has gained the attention from many individuals who purchase comic books and other reading items.

The Sentinels are a group of giants who are constantly trying to destroy Professor Charles Xavier and the X-Men. These daring robots are at least twenty feet tall and they are very strong and dangerous. Many individuals know that Toy Biz created excellent versions of these monstrous villains many years ago.

Some fans finally got their wish when they were able to purchase a Spider Woman doll which stood at twelve inches tall. Every lucky person was able to get one when it first hit the local toy shops. Other people are still trying to obtain one over the internet.
